HUD recently released a new version of HUD Form 91067Lease Addendum - Violence Against Women and Justice Department ReauthorizationAct of 2005. This new lease addendum has an expiration date of6/30/2017.
If you are using site software (Word, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)or TRACS software (such as Yardi, OneSite, IPM, etc.) to produce the leaseaddendum, HUD has given permission for owner/agents to remove the expirationdate.
However, if you are using a version of the HUD Form 91067with an expiration date, the new expiration date of 6/30/2017 must be on anyVAWA Addendums executed since the release of this new version.
Upon review, the only change to this document is to revisethe expiration date. HUD has not added sexual assault as an act covered underthe VAWA, even though such protections were clearly noted in VAWAReauthorization Act 2013. While not required by HUD, RBD recommends thatowner/agents provide some sort of clarification that the VAWA protections extendto victims of sexual assault.
As of this writing, HUD has not posted an updated versionof HUD Form 91066 -Certification of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence or Stalkingwhichexpired in 2014.
As of this writing, HUDhas not posted an updated version of HUD Form 92006 -Supplement To Application For Federally Assisted Housingwhich expiredin 2015.
SinceHUD has indicated that we should expect an increase in the number of Management& Occupancy Reviews (MOR) conducted in 2016, we have created a class to allowowner/agents and property managers to take a step back and review HUD'smultifamily occupancy requirements. This is not a review of basic requirements, but rather a discussion about best practices designed to help you identifycommon mistakes that may otherwise be revealed during the MOR.
Trainingincludes sample forms, notices and checklists.
